Large span portal frame conservatory installation at St. David’s Park Hotel

As the next instalment to our new Case Studies page we thought we’d take a look at a recent conservatory installation we worked on with one of our trade customers, Ancient Oak Ltd. of Preston.

Ancient Oak was contacted by St. David’s Park, a hotel and ‘Village Urban Resort’ located in Ewloe, near Chester. One of the hotel’s most impressive features is a beautiful outdoor courtyard, ideal for patrons to enjoy an al fresco drink or bite to eat.

The owners of St. David’s Park were keen to increase the courtyard’s versatility with the addition of a large span portal frame conservatory – allowing visitors to enjoy the  outdoor vista even if the weather is too inclement to venture outside for real!

Before construction could begin, existing shrubbery, patio flooring and a small corner conservatory had to be removed.

The next stage was to complete the construction of a series of concrete pad foundations to support the substantial framing to be assembled above.

Opting for two sets of French doors, multiple small-sash opening windows, and several skylights – set into a classic glazed roof, the finished conservatory provides the hotel with an attractive and flexible space – light, airy, spacious and usable all year round.
